20 team trivia questions for work
Questions 1–5: everyday things. 6–10: around the world. 11–15: science and space. 16–20: work it out together. Copy or print the player sheet; the host's answers are below and are not included in the export.
How to play
- Work in pairs or trios. Write one answer per team; take turns recording it. Passing is fine.
- The host reads one question at a time. Allow 45 seconds to discuss each answer; allow 60 seconds for the final five puzzles.
- Pause after questions 5, 10 and 15. Keep answers private until the host has collected that round's responses.
- Score one point per correct answer, with no speed bonus. Use the host's key; tied teams share the win.
- No web searches during the round. Put away the question sheet if the host is reading aloud, so you cannot read ahead.
How to run this work quiz
Use these four five-question rounds for a team social, a project celebration or a welcome session. The first three rounds use general knowledge; the last round gives everyone a chance to reason together. Nobody needs to know company history or share a personal story.
For a small group, use pairs or trios and choose one host who keeps the answer key. You need pens and paper, or a private place for each team to write its answers. This paper version needs no Unison account.
Give everyone a quiet moment before discussion. Rotate the person recording answers after each round, read the questions aloud and also provide readable text. Ask whether anyone needs longer to read; keep the same time allowance for every team.
Score one point per correct answer, up to 20. Award points for the answer rather than spelling, unless different wording changes its meaning. No speed bonus. Collect answers before revealing each round, and let tied teams share the win.

Round 4 answers: work it out together
- 28. Calculate 8 × 7 ÷ 2; dividing by two avoids counting each pair twice.
- 10:35. Twenty minutes takes you to 10:00, then add the remaining 35.
- Second place. You take the position of the person you pass, not the leader's position.
- Two minutes. The printers work in parallel, and each still prints just one badge.
- 96 credits. First 100 × 0.8 = 80, then 80 × 1.2 = 96.
A host running order you can use
Allow about 35 minutes: 45 seconds per trivia question, 60 seconds per puzzle, plus instructions, reveals and scores.
For a shorter session, select the first ten questions and allow about 20 minutes, including instructions and reveals. Keep company-specific bonus questions outside the score so newcomers have the same chance to win.
- Before people arrive: print the player sheets, keep the answer key separately and read every question aloud once. If you remove questions, match the key by question wording because the export renumbers the remaining questions.
- Minutes 0–3: put people into pairs or trios, explain scoring and show where to write answers. Start with: ‘There are four rounds of five questions. Agree one answer per team.’
- Minutes 3–22: run the three trivia rounds. For each question, read it, allow 45 seconds and ask teams to write their answer. After five questions, collect that round's answers and reveal the key; allow about two minutes for each reveal.
- Minutes 22–31: run the five puzzles with about 60 seconds per question. Collect answers, then explain the reasoning using the key.
- Minutes 31–35: add the scores and announce the result. Close with: ‘Which answer surprised your team?’
Prefer a ready-made guessing game?
Use the question bank above when you want this particular four-round quiz. If you would rather skip writing or entering questions, Year Off gives everyone historical events to date, and Google Showdown gives two search terms to compare. Both have an estimated ten-minute game length; allow additional time for joining and instructions.
Year Off adds the distance between each guessed year and the correct year, with the lowest total winning. Google Showdown gives one point for picking the term with higher recorded search interest.

Use these questions in a live Unison quiz
The sheet above is ready for a paper quiz. To use this question bank in a live Unison quiz, add the questions and answers yourself. Your own questions require Games or Events. Selecting or editing questions on this page does not transfer them into an event.
Copy your chosen questions into your notes before leaving. In the quiz setup, choose Yes, include our content, then Build around our content. Choose a duration with room for your selected questions. In My questions, use Add question, enter the question and its confirmed answer, then Save and add. Use Done and Create draft, and check the complete question list before finishing the review.
For a written answer, choose Exact answer. Where equivalent spellings or names could be marked differently, use Choose an option with one confirmed correct answer and plausible alternatives. Review the live quiz's scoring and timer; the one-point paper rules above are your manual scoring system.
For a remote session, use your existing video-call service to share only the question display. Keep this article and its answer key off screen. Unison does not provide the video call. Check joining and screen sharing before inviting the group.

Common questions
Can we play this work trivia quiz without an account?
Yes. Copy or print the player questions, keep the answer key with one host and use pens and paper. The paper version does not need an account, phones or an internet connection once you have the material.
How long does a 20-question team quiz take?
Allow about 35 minutes for this suggested format, including instructions, discussion, reveals and scores. Select the first ten questions for a shorter session of about 20 minutes.
Do we need questions about our company or colleagues?
No. These questions use general knowledge and shared reasoning. If you add company trivia, keep it as an unscored bonus so new employees can take part without knowing internal history.
Does Copy add these questions to a Unison event?
No. Copy exports the selected questions for your notes. To use them in a live quiz, add each question and confirmed answer in My questions, which requires Games or Events. Page edits are local; copy or print to keep them.
