Hen party games that feel like her

Her school friends, work friends and family all have a different story. Bring them together with a bride quiz, a photo scavenger hunt or a game everyone can join. Pick a few favourites for your night in or weekend away.

What will work for your hen do?

Choose for the people coming and the space you have. One game after dinner can be enough; you can leave a photo hunt open for the rest of the evening.

  1. Friends who haven’t met

Start with Find the Guest Bingo. A shared holiday, hobby or favourite song gives people something to ask about beyond how they know the bride.

  2. A small group at home

Try a bride quiz around the TV, then The Scale or Meme Match. Mix personal questions with a game that needs no knowledge of her childhood.

  3. A bigger group or weekend away

Make small teams for a photo scavenger hunt. Give everyone the same meeting time and finish by sharing their favourite pictures.

  4. Mums, aunties and non-drinkers

Use familiar photos, music and kind stories. All the ideas below work without alcohol, forfeits or asking strangers to take part.

Five personal hen party games

Choose a 10–20-minute quiz or a 20–30-minute photo hunt.

  1. Who knows the bride best?

Choose ten questions and confirm the answers with the bride or someone who knows the story. Give each question four plausible options, let guests answer on their phones, then leave time for the story behind the answer. Mix easy favourites with a few surprises.

Allow 15–20 minutes · personal quiz

Which hobby did she try once and immediately buy all the equipment for?

  2. Mr & Mrs: guess her partner’s answer

Ask her partner eight questions beforehand and keep the answers for the host. At the hen do, the bride guesses what they said before you reveal it. You can build a multiple-choice version in unison so everyone predicts the answer too. Use the couple’s names for a Mrs & Mrs or any other version.

Allow 10–15 minutes · a round in your custom quiz

  3. Find the Guest Bingo

Add clues about the people coming, then let guests mingle and find someone who matches each square. Use easy opening questions and a few facts supplied by friends. Agree whether you are playing for a line or a full card before you begin.

Allow 10–15 minutes on arrival · guest bingo

Find someone who has travelled with the bride, shares her favourite film or has known her since school.

  4. Hen party photo scavenger hunt

Create a Quest with five photo tasks and play in small teams. Set a finishing time, have teams upload their pictures and review the submissions. It works around a holiday house or an agreed walking area; make the challenges about your group and surroundings.

Allow 20–30 minutes · Quest photo tasks

Recreate an album cover, photograph something in the bride’s favourite colour, or recreate a pose from an old friendship photo.

  5. Secret missions

Give guests private challenges to complete while the evening carries on. Keep them small enough to fit into a conversation and let people pass. Save a few minutes at the end for everyone to reveal what they were trying to do.

Play between other activities · Secret Missions

Get three friends to join an imaginary band photo without telling them it is your mission.

Ready-made games for after dinner

If you haven’t collected photos or written questions, choose a game from the library. Use a shared screen, guest phones and internet.

  1. The Scale

One player gives a clue between two extremes. Everyone else decides where it belongs on the scale. The fun is hearing why your idea of a big night out is somebody else’s quiet evening.

  2. Meme Match

Choose a reaction picture for the prompt, then vote on the anonymous answers. It gives quieter guests a way to make the whole room laugh without performing a story.

    Explore Meme Match

  3. Watch Your Words

Explain a word while another player guesses and the rest set hidden traps. Roles rotate, so you get a turn at each part. A good choice when everyone is ready to talk and pay close attention.

Make the photo round worth talking about

Ask a few friends for one photo each, the story behind it and a detail the group could guess. A holiday mishap, a first job or a short-lived hobby gives you more to play with than another favourite-colour question.

Turn each contribution into a question, confirm the answer and add three believable alternatives.

Hosting a virtual hen party?

Keep it to a bride quiz and a photo memory round. Ask for answers beforehand, share the questions in your usual video-call app and let guests write answers on paper. Reveal them together and give each contributor time to tell their story.

For live play in unison, the host shares the game screen in the call and guests answer on their phones. Check that everyone can see the questions and hear any audio before you start.

Common questions

What hen party games work without drinking or dares?

A bride quiz, Mr & Mrs round, Find the Guest Bingo and a photo scavenger hunt all work without alcohol.

What can we play with very little preparation?

Choose The Scale, Meme Match or Watch Your Words from the game library. Test the shared screen and guest connection before everyone arrives. Personal quizzes and scavenger hunts need time to choose questions or tasks.

How do I include guests who don’t know the bride well?

Give quiz questions multiple-choice answers, use photos with clues and mix friendship groups for the hunt. Include a ready-made game so knowing the bride longest is not the only way to do well.

Can we use these hen party game ideas for free?

You can use the prompts on this page with paper and pens for free. unison’s Free plan includes starter party games and quiz previews for up to 10 players. Your own quiz questions require Games; Bingo, Secret Missions and Quests require Events.

What equipment do we need?

Prepare on a computer. Hosted quizzes and party games use a shared screen, guest phones and internet; music needs sound. Guests complete quest tasks on their phones, so a photo hunt does not need a TV. Check mobile coverage around your chosen area.
