How extravagant is a taxi home? How brave is sending the first message? The Scale turns everyday opinions into a guessing game. Each clue belongs somewhere between two opposites, but only its author knows the target position.
Guests prepare clues privately on their phones. The room then sees each clue and its two extremes, and everyone else places a guess on the dial. The reveal shows how differently people read the same idea.
If you enjoy Wavelength, The Scale offers a similar game of clues and guesses along a spectrum. Guests prepare their own clues and make individual guesses on their phones.
Choose it for friends or family who happily disagree about food, films and everyday decisions.
The clue creates the conversation, so colleagues can play without needing to know each other’s history.
Two guests can play; a few more gives you a wider mix of opinions. Everyone submits their own guess.
Choose the scale packs and number of scales per guest. Guests see private targets on their phones and write a clue for each pair of opposites.
Show a clue on the shared screen. Everyone except its author moves the dial on their phone and submits a guess.
Reveal the target and the guesses. See who got close, talk through the clue, then move to the next scale.
Your private target sits towards the extravagant end of the scale.
You write “A taxi home from the corner shop”. Everyone else decides where that belongs and places their guess.
The target reveals how extravagant you meant it to be. The closer each guess lands, the more points it earns — and the more specific the post-round debate becomes.
Guesses earn 4, 3 or 2 points depending on how close they are to the target; guesses outside the scoring bands earn 0. Individual scores carry across rounds. Separate clue awards track the points other players earned from your clues.
Start with a small number of scales per guest. Let people talk about a reveal before advancing, and choose familiar packs when guests are meeting for the first time.
